Through my successes and setbacks, through my life as a woman, wife and mother, I realized we are defined by rhythms.
The Rhythms of the Drum calls me…The drumbeat is one of the oldest and most sacred sounds that we can use to access consciousness and healing.
Drum making is meditation and a creative outlet for me. I begin by smudging myself, the hide and the hoop. I give thanks to the animals and trees for providing me with the wood for our hoops and the hides for the drum. I thank Creator. I do not know how the animal was killed, so, I offer prayer to the spirit of the animal, thanking it for its life and the gift of a drum for the healing of the people.
The prayers that are put into the drum, the gratitude and blessings for the opportunity to create these sacred drums. Drum making is also healing when I am connected and in this sacred space. Each drum that I make is different, as is each drum frame, animal hide and the person who will use this drum.

Elk ~ Lightweight & strong, thinner hide, varies from light to dark browns (available)
Deer ~ Lightweight and strong, thinner hide, color varies from cream to dark brown (not available at this time)
Moose ~ Thick hide, similar colors to buffalo, but lighter, deepest tones (not available at this time)
