Monday’s Self-Care Messages-Be willing to give up good for great!

Patience and I have always had a peculiar kind of a relationship. I guess you can say,  I’ve never really mastered the whole waiting thing.

There have been many, many times had I been too angry, annoyed, complained, lost my temper, gotten irritated, and missed out on what could’ve been the best thing that ever happened to me; all because I didn’t want to wait for it to show up?

I have actually grown in many was, but it hasn’t always been easy, but I am grateful for the good and bad experiences alike!  I am ever so blessed that in my quest to find patience, I found Reiki, which has assisted me with patience and understanding that good things DO come to those who take on a new outlook on patience!

Patience is synonymous with tolerance. I’m lucky to be on the path of learning to achieve it. I used to be and on occasion, can still be a very impatient person but I found out that good things come to those who can wait – it just makes you appreciate them even more.  For me, right now I am working on having patience in my own personal healing.  I continue to do daily Reiki, yoga and aromatherapy for my Sacred Self Care in an effort to combat Chronic Sinus Infections I’ve been having for almost a year now.  I used to expect to feel 100% immediately, but have learned to listen to my body – when I’m tired, I rest.  Patience has given me the courage to not become discouraged with my healing process when it dosn’t happen as quickly as I’d like.

Where could you use a little more patience in your life? gave this definition for patience, “The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

I hear you sister! I am patient with some things and not others. It has taken a life-time for me to understand that I can’t go from here to there without taking all the steps in between. I still work at it. Something to do with being a visionary I think — in my early years I used to be genuinely confused when things didn’t manifest immediately 🙂 I have gradually learned how to settle into the step by step process, struggled to find how to make it *not* boring, but alive in it’s own right. I’m better at it than I used to be, but I still have my moments. Wouldn’t it be great to teach this in primary school?

I certainly know that I am not alone in this, Mayana – thank you for sharing. I am always so amazed at how we change in life and be a little more “gentle” with ourselves. I would be awesome if this was a full learning experience in primary school, yes indeed!

    Patience… everyday lesson!
With the assistance of Reiki and friends/family I will continue to grown in this area…as difficult as it can be somedays.
Life experiences are only fully understood and appreciated with patience and love….

    Have a great one Cynthia!

Reiki can assist with patience in so many ways with the daily “stuff” in life such as family/friends/work and I agree, it is a day to day lesson to ask for, but well worth it!

Thanks for stopping by, Barb – enjoy your week.
