Are your elements in balance?

First I want to shout – HAPPY MAY!!!

May is historically a month where the weather here in Alberta is all over the place – I should tell you that thus far this May has been simply amazing– it’s been unseasonally hot, which has been wonderful for our energy and getting out for some much needed sunshine after our winter season.  The downside is that we’ve already seen tragic, devastating out of control fires in Alberta and more recently, BC.

I’m back up and at living life after going through yet another setback with my Chronic Autoimmune issues.  Last time it attacked my kidneys, this time my pancreas. I had a long 2 months of trying to come back into balance and healing.  I’d like to say thank you to all my beautiful friends and family who supported me in this by taking me to appointments when I couldn’t drive, coming out to visit for tea, supportive Facebook messages of love and support and the amazing healing sessions I was blessed with!

I have been feeling pretty darn good the past few weeks and am feeling like my “old” self and will once again be offering Reiki Classes and I have just finished my Warrior Goddess Training (kept my mental state busy while I was physically healing) and will be offering classes later on this summer and fall.

A good portion of the training was learning how to hold our own energy and create our own “Creed”, which is as follows:

I hereby commit to fully embody my warrior goddess self.  From this moment forward, I will do my best to:

No longer abandon myself
Learn to love the beginnings and endings
Treat myself as a Temple
Stay grounded and present
Honor my sassy, sweet fire
Own my strength and vulnerability
Open my heart to all of life
Speak my deepest truths
Listen to the wisdom within
Claim my unique path and walk the Warrior Goddess Way!

If you feel overwhelmed by your crazy life or judge yourself for falling short of perfection, you’ve probably learned to be your own worst critic rather than your own best friend. Warrior Goddess Workshops and classes will share the antidote to the flawed idea that you are not enough. Direct, honest, and unapologetic, Warrior Goddess Workshops and classes will show you how to release the layers of expectations to finally see yourself for the authentic, perceptive, perfect woman you really are.

You can sign up here for upcoming Classes and Workshops this summer!http://essentialenergyhealing.ca/classes-and-workshops/

Truth: I used to have a lot of control issues and I believed that was powerful!

Truth Bomb: Ruling with an iron fist and attempting to control everything and everyone is NOT powerful. It’s exhausting, frustrating and a total waste of precious time.  I found this espcially the truth bomb with my health!

What I have learned through my own healing journey and more with the Warrior Goddess Training I just finished and with clients is that true personal power comes from learning the art of surrendering and practicing non-attachment.

Here are 5 random ways attachment and control gives away your personal power. Can you relate to any of the following?

  • You flip out or at the very least get pissed over people doing things their way instead of the way you want.
  • You’re unwilling to hear and understand someone else’s point of view if it differs from yours.  Talk to the hand.
  • You feel disrespected, pissed off or hurt when someone asks your advice and then does it a different way.
  • You decide to go after a goal or dream and if it doesn’t go your way with ease or grace – so you give up thinking it’s not meant for you.
  • You get hung up on things being or looking one way and have a very hard time allowing things to shift and take new shape in your life.

You might be wondering how this control thing relates to magical living? Well, magically speaking, the “need for control” points to an imbalance of the Elements.

You are made up of 5 Cardinal Elements; AIR, FIRE, WATER, EARTH and SPIRIT.

AIR corresponds to the mental realm and when you have a healthy and balanced relationship with AIR, you call in healthy thoughts and think positively.

FIRE corresponds to the action realm and when you have a healthy and balanced relationship with FIRE, you move towards your desires and are mindful not to burn yourself out (by pushing too hard).

WATER corresponds to the emotional realm and when you have a healthy and balanced relationship with WATER, you enjoy healthy emotions and have the ability to go with the flow in life.

EARTH corresponds to the physical realm and when you have a healthy and balanced relationship with EARTH, you enjoy a feeling of stability/grounded-ness and have the ability to easily manifest your desires into the earthly plane.

SPIRIT corresponds to the heavenly realm and when you have a healthy and balanced relationship with SPIRIT, you enjoy a feeling of peace and because your faith is strong and gratitude flows within you each day.

Anyway your slice it  – failing to learn how to balance the ELEMENTS within you will block and prevent you from living your Warrior Goddess lifestyle.

If this email rang your truth bell, now may be the right time is now to sign up for my upcoming Warrior Goddess classes!  I truly don’t want you to suffer one more minute with the control monster – I remember those days and ocasionally still struggle. Trust me when I say peace, grace, joy and ease feels much better.

Universal Law: Same behavior = Same results.

Today, we also enter Taurus New Moon energy,  This EARTHY grounded new moon provides us with a potent window for planting your desires in rich, fertile soil.  Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to put your plans in writing and enjoy your physical body!

New Moon Bath Ritual

At the new moon, our body’s capacity for detoxification is at its highest.
Himalayan salt is the salt of choice for these baths. Not only is it the purest salt available but it also contains 84 elements and minerals that occur naturally in the ocean and earth.  The salt retains the memory of the earth. Just as the ocean reacts to the cycles of the moon, the potency of the salt also reacts to the moon phases.

How To Be A New Moon Bathing Goddess:

Fill the tub with about 3 inches of hot water.
Add 2.5 lbs. of Himalayan Salt to the tub to dissolve. You can swish it around to help it along. I put it in the spice grinder to expedite things.
If you live close to nature, keep the window open so you can hear the wind, rain, owls, crickets, etc. Or, play some soothing music.
While you are waiting for the salt to dissolve, dry brush your skin.
Once the salt is dissolved, finish filling the tub with very warm — but not hot — water. It should be slightly above body temperature {about 97 degrees F}.
Say a prayer or blessing if you’d like.
Bathe for 20-30 minutes, trying to keep as much of your body submerged as possible.
Use this time to dream and envision what you want to manifest during the next 28 days.
Don’t rinse OR towel off! And don’t apply any lotion, cream, oil or deodorant afterwards. Simply allow your body to breathe and air dry.
Rest comfortably for 30 minutes afterwards. {Please know that you may feel slightly lightheaded from the detox affect.}
A Few Extra Tips:

A candle at the foot of the bath helps clear the mind and focus intentions. It is said that combining energies like fire, water, earth and air can be spiritually cleansing.
Don’t add any thing else to the bath water. This is not a typical ‘bath’ bath, so shower first if needed.
Drink water before, during, and after the bath, to help your body release toxins.

I always love to share me knowledge with those beautiful souls wishing to support themselves on their Healing Journey!  It has been amazing, thank you to all of you who have made this possible, as I, the teacher learn just as much from those who bless me in coming to my classes as they learn from me.  What a wonderful exchange of energy.

Own your Light, Lead from Spirit, Widen Your Impact

Cynthia has been the “Soul” owner of Essential Energy Healing here in Lacombe for the past 10 years

Why do I do what I do?

I love to serve women who are ready to discover greater self- awareness, a deeper spiritual connection, emotional healing, authentic creative expression and to live a meaningful and passionate life as they age with grace, wisdom and vibrancy.

My practice is grounded in the pursuit of balance between mind, body, and soul, as I fully believe in the power of self-healing.

I work with women who are ready to commit to doing the sometimes difficult, always rewarding work of creating the life they desire. Whether it’s navigating transition (divorce; career change; getting older); personal development (including emotional, mental, and spiritual growth); and stress management, I will whole heartedly walk with you every step of the way until you have achieved that which you desire.

The reason why I do what I do is that I come from a place of transition myself… high anxiety, anger, and two Auto-Immune di-eases (Lupus and Celiac). I learned that you had to work hard for everything, that life was a struggle and that you had to earn your worth at every turn.  But that it not Truth!  Life does not have to be a daily struggle and through balancing the mind, body and soul with self-healing, self-care and knowledge you can stand in your power!

Sending you love and light

Sending you wishes that your Christmas Sparkles

Sending you wishes that your Christmas sparkles with moments of love, laughter and goodwill, May 2015 be full of contentment and joy.

I would like to take a moment to say Thank You for being here with me!

The holiday season is upon us. And for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, nature has already gone  into its dormant phase.  Mother Earth is hibernating. The trees have shed their leaves, snow covers the ground here in most of Alberta. This should be a time when we too seek solitude, go within, and take a little time off. It’s what our bodies want, it’s what our minds crave; yet, most of us ignore the signs, putting in ever longer hours as the days grow increasingly shorter.   For most people, it’s CRAZY BUSY. Stores are blaring holiday music and telling you there’s just a few shopping days left ’till Xmas. Companies are cranking away to make their end-of year financial goals. Families and friends are making plans to visit and celebrate. Social calendars have booked up.  And while our human ways can feel productive and even celebratory at holiday time, it’s also quite exhausting for most people. Not to mention that we are running COUNTER to the slower rhythms of nature at this time of year. Winter is meant of be a time of REST!
Yes, I said REST.
This is a word we seem to have forgotten in our fast-paced Western Culture. We are moving and lightning speed and multi-tasking like mad. We are doing MORE with LESS support. And most of us are really pretty tired.
In nature, we celebrate the changing of the seasons. And every farmer knows that a recipe for getting an healthy abundant crop is to leave the fields fallow for a period of time. But it’s not that nothing is happening during these fallow periods. The soil is regenerating. The nutrients are building back up. The plants are building their internal infrastructure and their root system is expanding beneath the ground. Without this fallow time, nature could not come out in her full splendor next Spring-with bountiful crops and glorious flowers.
We humans aren’t so different. We also need deep periods of stillness, rest, and “down time.” But our culture doesn’t really celebrate these things. With only 2 weeks of vacation a year at most jobs, there’s time for little more than a few family visits or a quick vacation.
So we keep pushing and pushing. And many of us, including me, have ended-up burnt out, unhealthy and generally not taking very good care of US. I was reading an article recently where it stated that approximately 80% of people today will experience adrenal fatigue in their lifetime. Wow.
So if you want to keep up your big, bright life. If you want to fully show-up for your family and your friends; if you want to make a big difference, you have really got to REST my friends. And nurture yourselves! This is not selfish behavior, but totally REQUIRED for folks who are going to be putting out a lot into the world. And I know a bit about all of you-you GIVE a lot. And you’ll burnout FOR REAL if you don’t charge up those batteries.
So here’s my suggestions of key holiday gifts to YOURSELF. If you fill up your own cup so that you are radiant and abundant, this will be nothing but FABULOUS for you, your family, and your work.

Self Care Secrets Revealed

Self Care Secrets Revealed

10 Tips For Holiday Self-Nurturance

1. Sleep a lot! I highly recommend averaging 9-10 hours of sleep per night-at least for a little while. You might think I am off my rocker, but just try it for a few days. You will thank me later.

2. Get regular bodywork (a.k.a. Reiki). Not just once a year on your birthday.  I normally receive a reiki session and a massage, at least once a month – If I could I would go every other week.
3. Take a day of Sabbath. I suggest every week, but at least every other week. When I say “Sabbath,” I mean a day with no plans, no “home projects,” no laundry. Just a day where you get to do whatever would bring you the greatest joy or satisfaction in the moment. Yoga class? Spontaneous hike? Read a book? If you have kids, you will probably need to drop them at a friend’s house for the day to make it possible. And you can reciprocate the favor the next week.
4. Uplevel your fragrance with essential oils.We all want to smell yummy, but I encourage you to toss a few of those chemical perfumes and opt for some essential oils. Essential Energy Healing is now carrying IN STOCK, Chakra Essential Oils and a few new High Vibrational Blends like The Rainbow Blend, which is a great balance and harmonizer for the body.  It seems to be my clients favorite as well!  These oils make a great holiday gift too. You can get them  here:  http:// essentialenergyhealing.ca/ chakra-essential-oils/ or stop by!

5. Expand in front of the fire. Let yourself just lay on the floor in front of a cozy fire with a lot of pillows and some blankets. This can be a great opportunity to expand your consciousness and engage your intuition. I like to ask deep soul questions into the fire, then watch for the shapes and images that appear in the flames. One can interpret those images as answers to the questions posed-a beautiful collaboration between you and the greater Spirit of life.
6. Try a weekly resorative yoga class at a local studio. For those of you unfamiliar with restorative yoga, this is not a dynamic faced-paced yoga-cize class for fat burning. No, not at all. It’s more like doing a restorative “nap time” in some gentle stretch positions, but with lots of props and support. Now entering the chill zone!  http://www. goodkarmayogaclass.com/
7. Support your spirit with flower essences. Those who are energetically sensitive will especially notice the effects. I’ve been using a common blend called “Rescue Remedy” made by Bach.
8. Take long baths. After a stressful day, my favorite activity is a long bath with candle light and some mellow music   I have been using Pink Himalayan Sea salts in my bath for years, and they are great.  You can add some relaxing essential oils such as lavender. Let yourself soak for a good while-at least 30 minutes.
9. Enjoy a coconut lube job. After that long bath I mentioned above, try topping it off with an slippery layer of coconut oil-straight out of the food pantry! It’s especially nice if you take time to apply it slowly to your body, imagining you are sending love to every part of your body as you apply the oil. This oil will leave your skin feeling so soft and supple, and it can be used at night in your hair-if it’s dry or color treated.  And it smells and tastes great! You can get it at a health food store and is usually found near the olive oil. Mmmm…
10. Celebrate the Winter Solstice  Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year. It’s a time to celebrate the darkness and its stillness, while celebrating our connection to the Earth and the return of the light.  On this night we have an opportunity to name and release those situations or patterns which are ready to be “lost into the night.”  We have an opportunity to symbolically die and reborn. You might check around in your local area to see if there’s a local Winter Solstice gathering, or create your own alone or with friends. You can check out some ideas with this  Winter Solstice2014 Ritual

Monday’s Self-Care Messages-Be willing to give up good for great!

Patience and I have always had a peculiar kind of a relationship. I guess you can say,  I’ve never really mastered the whole waiting thing.

There have been many, many times had I been too angry, annoyed, complained, lost my temper, gotten irritated, and missed out on what could’ve been the best thing that ever happened to me; all because I didn’t want to wait for it to show up?

I have actually grown in many was, but it hasn’t always been easy, but I am grateful for the good and bad experiences alike!  I am ever so blessed that in my quest to find patience, I found Reiki, which has assisted me with patience and understanding that good things DO come to those who take on a new outlook on patience!

Patience is synonymous with tolerance. I’m lucky to be on the path of learning to achieve it. I used to be and on occasion, can still be a very impatient person but I found out that good things come to those who can wait – it just makes you appreciate them even more.  For me, right now I am working on having patience in my own personal healing.  I continue to do daily Reiki, yoga and aromatherapy for my Sacred Self Care in an effort to combat Chronic Sinus Infections I’ve been having for almost a year now.  I used to expect to feel 100% immediately, but have learned to listen to my body – when I’m tired, I rest.  Patience has given me the courage to not become discouraged with my healing process when it dosn’t happen as quickly as I’d like.

Where could you use a little more patience in your life?

Dictionary.com gave this definition for patience, “The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

Your Winter Wellness Guide

Winter Wellness Guide
Winter is here.  Along with the colder weather, stress related to end-of-year work goals, events and parties to attend, travel, tight budgets, and impending guests can overwhelm the best of us.  We all have a zillion obligations and responsibilities, and it’s very easy to concentrate solely on living up to external expectations and meeting others’ needs.  The trouble is, this narrow focus often leads to exhaustion, illness, and burn out.It is so important to remember to take care of yourself during this season so that not only can you get through it unscathed, but also so you can truly delight in the holidays.  Self-care should always be on your calendar!
Here are my favorite methods of self-care that will have you happy and thriving through the end of the year and beyond!
  • Get Enough Sleep.  This can’t be emphasized enough.  The fact is, most of us never get enough sleep to start with, but with all the added stress around the holidays, sleep is usually the first casualty.  Without proper rest, you’ll be too tired to fully participate in or enjoy all the activities you’ve got planned.  And studies show that lack of sleep causes adrenal fatigue, which can lead to weight gain and mood swings.  So make getting to bed on time a priority!
  • Set Realistic, Unrestrictive Boundaries Around Eating.  During the holiday season, it’s likely you’ll be around foods and drinks you don’t normally consume the rest of the year, and most of them are not the healthiest of treats! Instead of struggling (sometimes with much difficulty!) to maintain your usual diet, my suggestion is you cut yourself some slack.  But to ensure you don’t wind up feeling bloated, logy, and sick, set some limits for yourself.  Perhaps it’s okay to allow yourself dessert, but your boundary is you know there is no way you’ll go back for a second helping.  Or, perhaps, you allow yourself to eat whatever you want on a holiday dinner, but beforehand, plan a cleansing diet for the following day.  Permit yourself to enjoy the holiday and all the scrumptious food it can bring…just make sure you set limits and boundaries for yourself that will allow you to feel good while enjoying it all.
  • Travel Smart.  Travel can wear you down and expose you to lots of germs.  To ward off any nasty bugs that might waylay you, make sure you wash your hands frequently, avoid salty or fatty plane snacks, and drink plenty of water.  Drinking water before, during, and after a flight will ensure you’re not dehydrated.  While flying, try to stretch in your seat and move your body as much as you can to prevent muscle stiffness and cramping.  You can remove your shoes, curl your toes and release them; you can do ankle circles both clockwise and counterclockwise; you can curl your shoulders forward to stretch your upper back and then press your shoulders back to stretch your upper chest. I also recommend taking any supplements that are appropriate for you; personally I take a multi-vitamin, zinc and extra vitamin C.
  • Remember to Breathe. When you’re frantically trying to wrap everything up for the year – your business obligations, travel plans, shopping, cooking, preparing for guests, organizing gatherings, etc. – you can get so busy you literally forget to breathe sometimes. Consciously focusing on your breath can be a wonderful way to regain a sense of grounding and balance.  You can focus on your breath in any situation: standing in line at the grocery store, in conversations with others, even at a party.  Just take 5 seconds to mindfully bring oxygen into your body, and to release any stress or toxins when you exhale.  Those 5 seconds can make a tremendous difference in your mood.
  • Create Time for Authentic Connection. With so much to do and so many people to see, it’s easy to fill your plate with conversations that don’t go deep enough to really recharge you or replenish your human need for connection.  Make time to have a heart-to-heart talk with a dear friend or beloved aunt.  Set aside an hour to help one of the kids in your life with a project they’re working on or play a game with them.  The more authentically you are connected to people, the more love and support you will feel.
  • Don’t Leave Yourself Out.  With all the activity surrounding all of us, it’s easy to get caught up in it all and end up depleted.  Take even just 15-30 minutes every day for yourself.  Make yourself a cup of tea and curl up with a book.  Take a walk.  Get a manicure.  Write in your journal.  This is also a great time to breathe!
  • Give Thanks. It IS that time of year, right?  What better occasion than the holidays to sit down and truly take stock of all the wonderful things in your life: the people, the material objects, your own talents and areas of brilliance, your pets, your accomplishments and successes.  Make a list and keep it handy throughout the season so that you can refer to it whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed or burned out.
This can be a wonderful time of the year, so make sure that you are able to fully enjoy it by taking good care of yourself.  Be gentle with yourself and those around you.  When you are well-rested and healthy, it is so much easier to complete all your tasks, make progress on your soul-centered project, and have energy left over for plenty of fun!

10 Great Reasons to take a Reiki Class

Freedom found with Reiki classes1.  Reiki teaches you how to self-heal so that on a daily basis you can balance your body, mind, spriit and physical body.  A reiki course will empower you to take control of your own health and well-being.

2.  So many are looking for direction and guidance in their life, but don’t know where to turn.  If you feel like something may be missing from your life, then you will benefit from a Reiki class!

We all need spiritual fulfillment and connection to be truly happy and if we are lacking that connection, then really, we have nothing.  Reiki will allow you to connect to your intuition and make the choices that are right for you.

3.  Stress is a major factor in a range of illness and millions of work days are lost every year due to employee stress.  Reiki can help you find inner peace and clarity.

4.  Reiki dosn’t just relieve stress and help you relax – it can be used to work on physical and emotional conditions as well!  Taking a Reiki class can really assist with stress, depression, injuries, fractures, surgery, arthritis and more!

5.  A process called the “Attunement” is used to connect you to your higher self and help you to know you self on a more intimate level.  Reiki shows you who you really are and opens up your mind to the things that you need and in this life.

6.  Do you sometimes feel like you are taking, taking and never giving?  Reiki will assist you in helping others in a soul satisfying way and there is nothing like being able to offer a healing gift to someone in need.

7.  Learning Reiki will help you see others as they really are.  We often give others the benefit of doubt, even if deep down we do not really trust who they are.  Learning Reiki can make you feel like you’e lived in darkness and suddenly, the “light” has been turned on!

8.  We all accumulate emotional trauma in our lives and so many think that by just burying these traumas, they have dealt with “it”.  Emotional trauma leave negative energies in our body and if this energy is not released, this may hold us back from shinning our light in the world, or worse yet, manifest into a serious illness.

9.  Many of us get trapped is a circle that follows the same unhealthy lifestyle patterns and habits over their lifetime.  Despite many attempts to change these behaviors, many are bogged down by their life and are unmotivated to make the changes needed.  Reiki can change the way you look at life and deal with situations.  Suddenly it doesn’t seem so difficult to make the decisions we need to make, they just naturally occur when they need to!

10. Everyone longs for happiness…very few actually achieve it though.  The founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui said that Reiki is the “Art of Inviting Happiness”.

True happiness comes from being connected to your intuition or higher self and following your true journey on this earth.  Without that bond, the soul suffers.

Therapeutic Effects of Reiki Drumming

Therapeutic Effects of Reiki Drumming

Drumming reminds our body of its ideal vibratory rate, which is in harmony with the pulse of the earth and the Universal flow of creation. Reiki combined with the rhythm of the drum helps to indentify and remove energy blockages, reduce stress and strengthen the nervous system, creating a deep sense of emotional well-being. It can improve focus, clarity, learning and memory, and help to unlock the creativity within. Reiki drumming has both preventative and therapeutic benefits and is a purifying process.
remo buffalo drum

Reiki drumming affects the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies simultaneously, helping to bring them into harmony while raising the vibratory rate to levels which may allow the body to accelerate its innate healing abilities.

There have been many scientific research studies conducted to discover the effect sound and drumming have on the human body and psyche. Biofeedback research indicates that even brief heartbeat drumming can double alpha brainwaves and reduce modern day stress, which is known to depress the immune system over long periods of time.

“Research further demonstrates that drumming accesses the whole brain, synchronising the two cerebral hemispheres, engaging both logical left brain and intuitive right brain. It has been shown to generate dynamic neural connections in the brain, even when there has been significant damage such as after stroke or with Parkinson’s Disease. Other studies have noted that IQ scores have improved with control groups after playing drums.”
Sarah Gregg, Reiki Drum UK.
